Duluth Economic Development Authority announces no-cost pilot program to allow eligible mobile food vendors to operate in City of Duluth parks
[DULUTH, MN] The Duluth Economic Development Authority (DEDA) is launching a pilot program offering up to six local mobile food vendors a no-cost Commercial Operator’s Permit to operate in City of Duluth parks during the 2026 summer season. This permit is normally $300, and the pilot program will cover the full cost of the permit. This pilot program is designed to give local operators a low-barrier opportunity to expand their business’s visibility, grow customer reach, and connect with the Duluth community while interacting with City of Duluth’s parks and park-goers.
The pilot program will include a six-month permit valid from May 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026, and will allow access to operate in all City of Duluth parks equipped for mobile food vending. Eligible vendors must be registered mobile food vendors with the City of Duluth Clerk’s Office, be residents of Duluth, or have a brick-and-mortar business located in Duluth city limits. No-cost permits will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, and are limited to six total no-cost permits.
