2026 Citizen Police Academy

The Duluth Police Department is looking for 24 individuals to attend the 2026 Citizen Police Academy (CPA). This academy will take place every Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m. starting March 4 until May 6.

The Citizen Police Academy offers members of our community both in-field, hands-on, and in the classroom instructions regarding different tactics, operations, and divisions within the Duluth Police Department. There will be multiple opportunities for questions to gain a better understanding of Duluth Police practices and procedures, and the reasons for them.

If you’d like to attend this year’s CPA, fill out the application and criminal history form on our website: https://duluthmn.gov/police/citizen-opportunities/citizen-police-academy/ and return the documents by emailing police@duluthmn.gov or dropping it off at the Public Safety Building (2030 N Arlington Ave).

Those accepted to participate in the Citizen Police Academy will be contacted in February with more details.
