INCIDENT LOCATION: Downtown Area

On Thursday, November 25, 2010, beginning at 8:45 a.m. traffic will be diverted from portions of Superior Street in Downtown Duluth and London Road by Leif Erickson Park, for the Thanksgiving Day Gobble Gallop Races.
 
Motorists should obey temporary No Parking areas on both sides of Superior Street from 12th Avenue East to 6th Avenue West. Violators may be tagged and towed.
 
Traffic delays will occur for approximately two hours as motorists are diverted off of Superior Street between 12th Avenue East and 6th Avenue West. Motorists should be alert for officers directing traffic in that area. Canal Park and the DECC may be accessed by 5th Avenue West. Traffic coming from the Northbound and Southbound I-35 off ramps to Lake Avenue will be temporarily diverted toward Canal Park. Traffic wanting to access Downtown from the Canal Park area will be required to use 5th Avenue West.
 
6th Avenue West and the 5th Avenue West viaduct will be the only access to the DECC and Canal Park from Downtown during the race, and the only way to access Downtown from the Canal area will also be from 5th Avenue West.
 

Downtown traffic should return to normal by approximately 10:30 a.m. East Superior Street traffic should return to normal by approximately 11:00 a.m
