SUBJECT: Gas Service in East Duluth Neighborhood Temporarily Shut Down

 Gas Service in East Duluth Neighborhood Temporarily Shut Down

City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department reports that a crew making repairs in East Duluth hit a gas line requiring a shutdown of the gas service for several hundred households in the neighborhood in order for repairs to commence.  Crews are on site and emergency services has been notified. 

 

The area impacted is from North 15th Ave East to 21st Ave East and stretches along Woodland Ave up to East 8th Street.  The north-south boundaries are East 5th Street and East 8th Street.

 

Once repairs are completed, City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities staff will have to go door to door to relight appliances.  Residents who are not home will get a  notice placed on their front door.  Residents can call Comfort Systems at (218) 730-4050 to request city staff assistance with relighting appliances. 

The City appreciates the cooperation of the public as crews work to expedite repairs.
