SUBJECT: Medical Involving Alternative Marijuana Substance

INCIDENT LOCATION: South Arlington Avenue

On Friday, December 31, 2010 at 9:18 PM, Duluth Police, along with Gold Cross Ambulance and the Duluth Fire Department, responded to a medical call at a residence on South Arlington Avenue. Information given was that a 19 year old male had used a "legal" alternative marijuana substance and was now “freaking out, hitting the wall, and not making any sense”. The last information given was that male was going into convulsions.
 
When authorities arrived the male was alert but experiencing uncontrollable shaking.  He was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center where he was later released. Authorities were shown the alternative marijuana substance that was labeled “Fear and Loathing” and told it was purchased at a Duluth based business.
