The Duluth Police Department is sponsoring a first of its kind Crisis Intervention Training. The Duluth Police Department, the Minnesota CIT ( Crisis Intervention Team) along with the Miller Dwan Foundation is excited to announce and promote this unique training. This training is geared towards those first responders who would most likely be the first to arrive at a crisis potentially involving a mentally ill person. There will be members of the Mental Health profession who will be instructors of this training.
For the first time ever, there will be a component of this training to include those service members integrating back into our community. This training will better equip officers and first responders in dealing with members of our community to include veterans during a crisis.
This 4 day training is taking place at the Hermantown Public Safety Building located at 5111 Maple Grove Rd. Beginning Monday, Jan. 10-13th. The press is invited to this facility on Tuesday, Jan. 11th from 2 PM-2:30PM to observe and ask questions of the MN CIT staff and other presenters.
