A Duluth man is in custody after threatening employees at the Last Place On Earth and fighting with Duluth police officers that responded.
At 7:47 pm on Saturday January 22nd, 2011 Duluth Police Officers responded to the Last Place On Earth at 120 E. Superior St. in reference to a male that was threatening to kill employees and police. They reported that the male was angry and demanded they give him $10 dollars and some synthetic marijuana.
When officers arrived they found the male still in the store. He was identified as Darren Sean Engblom age 40, of Duluth. He became uncooperative and fought with officers before being handcuffed. He had in his possession an item that was altered to be used as brass knuckles and had earlier threatened employees with it.
Engblom was transported to the St. Louis County Jail where he was booked for Aggravated Robbery, Terroristic Threats, Gross Misdemeanor Obstructing Legal Process and 2nd Degree Assault.
