 City to start snow removal in Central Hillside and medical district neighborhoods 

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Street Maintenance crew will be removing accumulated snow from the Central Hillside and medical district neighborhoods starting at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011.  

City staff will start with the following streets: 4th street from 4th Ave East to 7th Ave East on both sides; 3rd Street from 3rd Ave E to 6th Ave E; 2nd Street from Lake Ave to 6th Ave E on the lower side then both sides of 2nd Street from 6th Ave E to 12th Ave E; 1st Street from 3rd Ave E. to 12th Ave E. on both sides; 4th Ave E from 2nd Street to 4th Street on both sides; 5th Ave E. from 3rd Street to 5th Street on both sides; 8th Ave E. from Superior Street to 1st Street on both sides; and along Superior Street from the Fitgers complex to 12th Ave E. on both sides.

The public is requested to remove vehicles from the streets starting at 2:00 a.m. on Janaury 27, 2011. Cars obstructing snow removal efforts will be ticketed. The crew may have to postpone snow removal efforts depending on projected snowfall and the need for staff to prepare for snow plowing operations.
