The City of Duluth offers a variety of employment services and training opportunities to help eligible older workers update skills needed to compete in today’s job market. Each program has different eligibility requirements and offers an assorted array of services depending on the individual’s needs.

Training opportunities include:

• Internship Training - Part-time, temporary 20 hours/week paid training assignments at non-profit or governmental agencies. Interns develop recent work experience, learn work-based skills, and increase confidence.
• On the Job Training - short-term paid training (part or full-time) on the job to help you learn work-based skills on the job.
• Digital Literacy Training - individualized or group basic computers skills training.
• Classroom Training - Opportunities to improve employment skills such as basic and/or advanced computer training, or gain an industry recognized credential.
• Individualized Job Search Training - Assistance to help you get employment off the program, such as career counseling and navigation, help with applications, resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and on-line job search. 

You may qualify if you are age 55 or older, and live or work in the Duluth area. For some programs, income eligibility also applies. Priority is given to veterans and qualified spouses, and individuals with barriers to employment.
